6 Ways to Give at Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church

Every act of giving is a form of worship, regardless of whether something physical is placed in the offering plate or not. Here at Stirling Mennonite there are various ways to give to the work of the church. Thank you for your generosity and giving spirit.

  1. Cash or Cheque

The church provides envelopes with your own number on them in order to issue you a tax receipt for all amounts received (contact the church office if you would like envelopes.)  These can mailed/delivered to the mailbox at side door of the church (57 Stirling Avenue North, Kitchener ON N2H 3G4) . Our mailbox is checked frequently throughout the week. They can also be placed on the offering plate on Sunday. A service fee may be applied by your financial institution for cheque clearance.

Preauthorized Debit (PAD)/Automatic Funds transfer (AFT) is our new preferred way for congregants to make monthly electronic contributions from any financial institution. Please contact Stirling’s bookkeeper at bookkeeper@stirlingmennonite.ca for details on how to setup PAD/AFT or member direct payments.

2. Preauthorized Debit (PAD)/ Automatic Funds Transfer (AFT)

3. MemberDirect Inter-Member transfer

If you are a member of Kindred Credit Union you can set up a MemberDirect Inter-Member Transfer Agreement which would allow you to make individual or regular payments to Stirling with no service charge. Contact Stirling’s bookkeeper at bookkeeper@stirlingmennonite.ca,  for details on how to do this. You may also be able to arrange for regular transfers through other financial institutions for the same fees that would apply to e-transfers.

4. E-transfer

Send an Interac e-transfer. Stirling is set up for automatic deposits of e-transfers so there is no need for a security question or answer. You may send your e-transfer directly to office@stirlingmennonite.ca. A service fee may be applied by your financial institution.

5. Abundance Canada

Abundance Canada’s Flexible Gifting Account is a unique Donor Advised Fund (DAF) that works like a savings account for all your charitable giving. You also determine when, where and how much you want to distribute to Stirling and/or other charities. A donation receipt will be issued by Abundance in the year donations are made. Learn more at Abundance.ca or contact them at 519-745-7821 or kitchener@abundance.ca.

6. CanadaHelps

CanadaHelps will receive donations online and forward the amount to the church. About 3-4% of your donation is taken by CanadaHelps (which is itself a registered charity) to cover their costs. To start, go to CanadaHelps.org and enter “Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church” in the “Find a Charity” search box.  A tax receipt will be issued electronically by CanadaHelps..
